Charles-Edouard Jeanneret (nicknamed Le Corbusier) was one of the most influential European architects of the modern era. He was a bitter rival of Wright, whom he denounced as "the blue-eyed prairie-dog." Le Corbusier spoke of the house as "a machine for living," expressing a vision far different from Wright's "Organic Architecture."
